Junior League gives us the 411 on this Weekend's Boutique Warehouse Sale!

By now you probably know that we're helping the Junior League of Baltimore get the word out about this weekend's Boutique Warehouse Sale. Christi Barth, the JLB member heading the sale, was kind enough to answer a few questions about the sale for us. And we thought it would help you out too!

Don't miss out on scoring a free pre-sale pass! Enter our JLB Boutique Sale Warehouse Giveaway. You have until 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 23rd to enter.

Doors to the public sale open at 10:00 AM on Saturday at JLB's Headquarters at 5902 York Road. The public sale runs from 10 AM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, and 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Sunday. Admission to the public sale is FREE.

There are lots of ways to fundraise. How did you come up with the idea to host a boutique warehouse sale?
Research, research, research! Before we embark on any new fundraiser or community project, we devote an entire committee to figuring out the most topical and best approach. This fundraiser is so terrific because not only do we raise money for our programs, but every single shopper walks away feeling good about where they spent their money (and hopefully with a bulging shopping bag).

How did you find the participating boutiques?
We are an organization of women, so it is safe to say there are some shoppers among our members! Honestly, it is months of networking and follow up and yet again, research.

What can visitors expect at the sale? (describe the set-up, should they bring a bag, etc).
We have over twenty participating boutiques. We'll provide the bags - don't worry! Shoes, clothes for men, women and children, jewelry - we have something to please everybody.

Have you ever hosted a Boutique Warehouse sale before? What was the outcome?
This is our ninth semi-annual sale. The Baltimore boutiques have been extremely generous in helping us over the years, and we definitely see return customers each time. It has been a wonderful partnership for us.

Why would patrons want to buy a pre-sale ticket?
The hottest items sell out fast! We don't have stacks of extra merchandise stashed in the back. When we run out of an item in a particular size, it is gone! Your best chance of being able to purchase exactly what you want in the right size is to shop early.

What do you think is going to be 'hot ticket' item?
Martin & Osa jeans - they are definitely a hot item in limited quantity. And Samuel Parker has given us some really fantastic ties this year - they are going to fly out the door.

Proceeds from the sale go to Junior League initiatives - - so tell us a little bit about the junior league.

What are the initiatives? Who are your members? If interested, how could others get involved?
For 98 years, the Junior League of Baltimore has devoted countless volunteer hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to Building a Better Baltimore! We are an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Junior League of Baltimore, Inc. reaches out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. We are always looking for new members. A great way to start is to come to the sale this weekend, where we will have membership information. Also please browse our website at www.jlbalt.org

If you have one piece of advice for shoppers, what would it be?
Come early and bring your friends - they'll thank you for it!
