Chinese New Year Celebration at Port Discovery!

Did you know 2011 is the Chinese Year of the Rabbit? Or that Port Discovery Children's Museum is planning a hopping good time to celebrate? The museum, located near the Inner Harbor, will host it's annual Chinese New Year Celebration on Saturday, January 29th from 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM. In addition to their regular exhibits, attendees will be treated to food tasting/chopstick training with P.F. Chang's China Bistro, storytelling by Linda Fang, Chinese lion dance by Tai Yim, a year of the rabbit petting zoo, and much more!

Winter Constellations at Irvine Nature Center
Bundle up! You and your older younger kids (those over 7) can head to Irvine Nature Center for some star gazing on Saturday night from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. It might be chilly, but the sky will light up with some of the great star patterns like the Big Dipper, Orion the Hunter and Cassiopeia. Bonus? The winter sky is generally clearer than muggy summer nights. It's sure to be a spectacular show from Mother Nature! Admission is free for members and $10 for non members.

Hot Chocolate Walk
Join a naturalist at Cylburn Arboretum on Saturday from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM for a guided walk through the woods to search for signs of winter wildlife and learn how plants and animals survive the winter season. Afterward, enjoy hot cocoa in the Cylburn Mansion. Advance registration is required. There is special $20/family pricing for this event.

Winter Igloos at Lakeshore Learning
Free crafts for kids! Beginning at 11:00 AM and ending at 3:00 PM on Saturday, your child (ages 3-11) can create a winter igloo at the Lakeshore Learning Store in Towson - - FOR FREE.

Tour Modern Art Masterpieces
Free family Sundays at the Baltimore Museum of Art ARE GREAT. Drop in this Sunday between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM for a kid friendly tour of modern art.

Orioles Fan Fest
Think spring with this one day festival dedicated to Birds fans this Saturday. It's $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 15. Enjoy a day-long celebration of Orioles Baseball packed with current and former player appearances, interactive Q&A sessions, youth clinics, memorabilia exhibits and interactive games.

Wolf Tales
Introduce your tike to the world of dance with this family-friendly performance! Kinetics Dance Theatre performs the Russian folk tale Peter and the Wolf, The Three Little Pigs, and Little Red Riding Hood at Howard Center for the Arts. The performances take place at 1:30 and 3:00 PM on Sunday. Admission is $5/person.
