It's Time to Party in the Park! (And one lucky family is winning a four pack of tix!)

According to weather.com, it's supposed to be mostly sunny and 71 degrees next Saturday. Perfect excuse (as if you needed one) to spend the day at Baltimore's Second Annual Party in Park at Padonia Park.

Need another reason? How about a live performance from Grammy-nominated kids' music sensation, Milkshake? Or internationally acclaimed band "The Bridge?" (By the way, both bands are proud to call Charm City home!). A delightful kid's zone including contortionists, magicians, make-your-own-slime, petting zoo, crazy hair, the Oriole Bird and more?

It's shaping up to be a gastronomist's delight too. Foodies have their choice of goodies from local favs Clementine, Iced Gems Cupcakes, Pepperjack Grille and Micha's fresh made sorbet (among others).

Still not convinced? How about that all of the proceeds benefit The Nikki Perlow Foundation. The Foundation was established to celebrate the life of a beautiful, vibrant young woman. On July 9, 2007, one month shy of her 22nd birthday, after 15 months of sobriety, Nikki died of an accidental overdose. Her family and friends formed this foundation to honor her memory and to provide financial, logistical and emotional support to young adults like Nikki - who struggle with the disease of addiction.

Clif Perlow, Nikki's father and executive director of the foundation, told (cool) progeny that he's been looking forward to this event since the inaugural festival last year. He can't wait for the phenomenal musical acts, "getting to see everyone," and spreading the word about the Foundation's mission.

He is especially excited for Candy Land.

New to the festival, this children's exhibit is being set-up by the foundation is a child-size version of the board game.

The party goes from 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM next Saturday, October 2nd.

Guess what? One lucky family is getting to party for free, courtesy of The Nikki Perlow Foundation. We have a family four pack of tickets to give away! You don't need to have four people in your family, just yourself and three other people that would love to frolic in the park for a good cause.

Want to win them? Just leave a comment with your name and email address on this post. Want a second chance to win? Like (cool) progeny on facebook - - and leave a SECOND comment telling us you're a FB follower!

Not our lucky winner? Don't despair! You can buy tickets online ($10/adult, $5/child) and beat the lines at the festival!

You have until 11:59 PM on Tuesday, September 28th to enter! Good luck!

(cool) tip: Can't make the party next Saturday but still want to support The Nikki Perlow Foundation? Head over to their website and make a tax deductible donation. Keep checking their events page for announcements on their other two annual fundraisers: Rock the Recher and Par for the Cause.
