Throw a Sledding Party!

Kids off of school today? Or just two hours late and you know they'll come home grumbling? Grab the neighbors and throw an impromptu sledding party - - not only will they thank you for the fun, it's a great way to get a little fresh air, too!

No need to go overboard. Ingredients for a sledding party? A sled. A friend. Some trail mix. Hot chocolate. Yum.

The Hip Hip Hooray Blog ran a great piece on throwing a sledding party on January 3rd - - and we just had to share their inspiration board! For details on all of their ideas, check out their original post. Personally, I'm kinda fond of the snowflake shaped marshmallows. (Not that I've ever had any trouble getting the Bug to eat a marshmallow...)

Does your family thrive on a little friendly competition? {{Or maybe you just need to engage those 'big' kids at heart that may also be known as Dad?}} Consider a sled pulling contest! Disney Family Fun has an interesting idea for getting your tot's favorite stuffed animals in on the sledding fun.

Or maybe you've got a crafty kiddo and outdoor ice sculpture fun might be more your speed? This fun idea is another great one from Disney's Family Fun Website.

Warming up with hot chocolate? Take it outside and give it out to the neighbors - - and considering asking for small donations and giving back! Check out Classic Play's Hot Cocoa for Water project. We think it's pretty darn (cool).
