123 Baltimore Book Signing & Coloring Workshop: If you missed it, earlier this week we posted an interview with Puck -- the writer behind duopress and a fabulously cool series of board books for young kids. Puck will be at aMuse Toy's Quarry Lake location on Sunday, February 27th at 11:00 AM for a book signing, live reading of 123 Baltimore and a coloring workshop.

Maple Magic at Irvine Nature Center: It's the last weekend to celebrate the sweet stuff at Irvine Nature Center! Walk through Irvine's woods in a quest to make delicious maple syrup. Learn how to identify maple trees, properly tap a tree to collect its sugary sap, and convert the sticky fluid into syrup using Irvine's enormous evaporator. It's the perfect way to follow up a great pancake breakfast! All ages. Saturday and Sunday from 1-2:30 PM.

Happy Birthday, B&O Railroad Museum! Come celebrate both the B&O's 184th birthday as well as the 127th birthday of the historic 1884 Baldwin Roundhouse! The B&O will be running programs on both the birth of the oldest railroad in America and the 1884 Roundhouse. From 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Sunday. PS - this is the last weekend that Maryland Zoo Members can visit the B&O Railroad Museum for FREE. Train rides are offered weekends in January; tickets are $2.00 for adults & seniors and $1.00 for children (2-12).

American Craft Council Show: More than 700 contemporary jewelry, clothing, furniture and home décor artists from across the country are gathering at the Baltimore Convention Center this weekend. Why consider bringing your kids? They have handcrafters of wooden toys, kaleidoscopes and kids under 12 get in free. The show runs Thursday through Sunday.

Central Y of Maryland FREE Family Fun Night: Families and friends throughout Maryland are invited to the Y for a free night of fun and entertainment! Enjoy a dip in the pool, fun Fit-N-Fun activities, and a variety of other games and activities. Additionally, healthy snacks and giveaways will be provided. From 6-9 PM at the Y Aquatics Center of Randallstown on Saturday.

FREE African American Family Festival at the Walters: African American Family Festival - Join us as we celbrate African American heritage and communities from around the globe. Travel through a village marketplace in search of new art, fabrics, intruments, spices and friends. Explore family histories through storytelling, play acting, and video interviews. Saturday at The Walters Art Museum from 10AM - 4PM.

Happy Birthday ELMO! How could we not include this event on our top picks? Not only is Elmo a Charm City native, but he just so happens to be beloved by every toddler on the planet. The Lutherville-Timonium Borders on Ridgely Road will be celebrating his birthday with music, stories, crafts, and more at 2:00 PM on Saturday.

The Great Holtzie: A few weeks ago we were taking our tutu-clad toddlers to Rams Head Live for Milkshake. This Sunday, we can take 'em to Magooby's Joke House to see the GREAT HOLTZIE, a Philadelphia-based comedian who has a fabulous little comedy show just for kids. Tickets required, but you can pick them up at the door.
