what's up for the weekend... march 4 - march 6

Spring (unofficially!) is sprung. There's just something about the beginning of March that seems to mark the end of winter and the beginning of ... more fun stuff! There are lots of things happening this weekend and the weatherman is promising highs in the upper 50s this weekend.

Tooth Time for Tots: Lost Tooth: It's the first Friday of the month! That means story time at the National Museum of Dentistry at 2:00 PM. Children can explore what their smile says about them through stories, play, and hands-on activities. This month they learn how their teeth grow and what happens when baby teeth get loose and fall out; explore teeth through observation, counting, and models; make a craft; and read How Many Teeth?

Women's History Night at the National Aquarium: Discounted admission to the Aquarium plus cultural activities? It's a win-win this Friday night at 5:00 PM!
Women's History Night features a special exhibit about notable women from Maryland's history, music and dance performances, and more. Plus it's Friday after Five, which means admission to the local hot spot is just $8/person.

Family Movie Night: A Bug's Life
Seems like Friday is a popular day for events! Join other families at the Marshy Point Nature Center for a free screening of A Bug's Life. Did you catch that it's FREE? Snacks are available for $3 ($2 for members). The fun begins at 7 PM.

Maryland Home and Garden Show
It's here!
Visit over 300 booths with everything from decks and patios to kitchens, baths, remodelers, spas, windows, additions, builders and many unique products you won’t find anywhere else. It may be cold outside, but the show is blooming well before Spring as our professional landscapers will showcase their talents and answer your questions as you dream of the perfect outdoor lifestyle. This year's garden theme is "Symphony of Spring." Catch the show Saturday and Sunday this weekend and next.

Science Alive for Kids Under Five: FISH
Have a Nemo fanatic like we do? Take them to the
Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center on Saturday to explore the exciting world of fish. They’ll learn about our finned friends through stories, activities, and a LIVE touch tank! They’ll even try our hand at fish prints for you to take home. Snack & Take Home Craft Provided.

Family Festival 2011
It's a bit of a day trip, but if you're up for it head to the
Corcoran Gallery of Art in DC this weekend for their annual Family Festival! Creativity thrives in Washington, D.C.! It's a FREE celebration for the entire family where you will groove to the beat of local musicians, marvel at magnificent D.C. tap dancers and performers, and dip your hands into amazing art-making workshops led by local artists. Family culture abounds from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Saturday.

Camp Fair
Brought to you by Baltimore's Child! Now's the time to make plans for the summer of 2011. Mark your calendar for March 6, 2011, from noon -3 p.m. for the Baltimore Area Camp Fair at the Crowne Plaza Timonium Hotel. Meet with camp directors and their staff, learn about the many wonderful options available for your kids and enjoy the free entertainment we have scheduled throughout the afternoon. Be sure to enter the drawing to win a camp scholarship for your child.

Maple Magic at Ladew Topiary Gardens
It's maple sugaring time when maple tree sap begins to flow freely. Come experience the process of maple sugaring as we head out to Ladew's Nature Walk to identify trees, observe tapped maple trees and collect some sap! Magic happens from 2-4 PM on Sunday.
