a fun-tabulous time at the grilled cheese cook-off play date!

More than 100 people joined us for our second play date -- at the Mt. Washington Tavern's 1st Grilled Cheese Cook-Off Event! Foodie fun for everyone.

Five Charm City chefs and three home kitchen grilled cheese gurus cooked up some marvelous sandwiches for the competition. Best part? We all got to taste them! Personally, I flipped for the veggie grilled cheese that the Tavern staff were serving. Claudia from aMuse Toys loved the applewood bacon grilled cheese. The Bug preferred The Vermonster sandwich, served up by Darrick Granai and the team from Baldwin's Station.

But it was Chef Matt Milani of The Rumor Mill in Ellicott City who took home the coveted award of Kids Choice! You have to admit, they're a pretty tough crowd. So it's a well-deserved congrats!

aMuse Toys and duopress helped us bring kidspiration to the play date. Claudia, Tom and Sebastian from aMuse led the crowd though Alex Toys' tissue paper and sand art. Mauricio from duopress signed copies of his books 123 Baltimore, My Foodie ABC and My Foodie ABC Placemats. aMuse and duopress donated proceeds from the art kit and book sales to Moveable Feast, the event charity partner.

We couldn't have pulled this off without the support of our goodie bag sponsors: Urban Baby Runway, Irvine Nature Center, Green Healthy Cleaning, Wee Chic - A Baby Boutique, Baltimore Mommies, KneeBouncers, Rileyroos and Shoezooz! Be sure to check out these WONDERFUL local family friendly businesses. Give them a shout on facebook, too! {{If you snagged one of the goodie bags at the playdate, let us know what you thought of their products by leaving a comment!}}.

You can read more about the Grilled Cheese Cook Off over on The Baltimore Sun.com. We've also got an album of photos posted on our facebook page!

We've got a LOT more playdates coming your way this spring and summer. If you have an idea for one, give us a shout at heather@coolprogeny.com. We'd love to hear your ideas!

Thanks to all who came out. Can't wait to see you all at the next event!

Yes, who won the People's Choice? We left before the winners were announced, and the Sun article doesn't even have the Kid's Favorite, let alone the People's Choice winner.

Was a fun event for sure though, well done!

I'm so sad we couldn't be there. I'm sure it was great.
