what's up for the weekend: oct 14-16

Rain, rain, go away... and it looks like it just might. There are lots of fun activities happening in and around Charm City this weekend. For a complete list, check out our calendar. In the meantime, here are our Top 5 Picks.

Harbor Harvest at West Shore Park: This Sunday, get your fall on in this urban family 'harvest' adventure. The Waterfront Partnership and DBFA are bringing the country into the city. IKEA is creating an urban pumpkin patch, there will be tons of FREE family activities, and you'll be able to get in on the Monster Mash with us! Be sure to stop by our activity center, say 'hi' and get your little monster's photo taken.

Family Fun at the Baltimore Running Festival:
Looking for a fun and educational kids activity during this weekend's Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday? T. Rowe Price will be on-site with the Great Piggy Bank Adventure and sponsoring the Kids Fun Run. The Fun Run is open to all children 12 and under. There are two age groups: 7 and under and 8-12.

 Critterpalooza! FREE nature-themed community event on Saturday. Families will have the opportunity to interact with live animals, view museum collections, and participate in hands-on nature activities and crafts. A ‘Dress Like a Critter’ costume contest (12 & under) will begin at 3 pm. There will be stink bug traps, plants, baked goods, and raffle tickets available for purchase to support the activities of the Natural History Society of Maryland. {{Did you read stink bug traps?}}

Vagabond Clown Clinic: Part of Free Fall Baltimore! So yepp, that means free. For the young and young at heart!  Enjoy learning some of the basic clowning sills on Saturday– makeup, movement, mime, magic and more!  See a live performance in our theatre!  Learn about juggling and puppetry!  Wear comfortable clothes and join us for an afternoon of FUN! Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights: Beth El Congregation presents Joanie Leeds and The Nightlights! The children's concert will take place on Sunday, October 16th at 10:30 AM in the Offit Auditorium at Beth El Congregation in Baltimore. Joanie Leeds is known for her rock solid voice and energetic music that resonates with children everywhere. The singer/songwriter will be performing music from her CD's, "City Kid", "I'm a Rock Star", and her newest album, "What a Zoo". Joanie entertains at preschools throughout Manhattan, birthday parties, and performs concerts nation-wide! Tickets cost $10. Children under 1 are free.
