charm city holiday bucket list

There are SO MANY fun holiday traditions in Charm City -- some oldies and some nouveau. Probably why Yahoo! named Baltimore one of the best holiday destinations this year.

But as the busiest time of year pops out from around the corner {we know it's coming, so why does it always seem to slam us in the face?}, we're faced with the realization that we can't possibly do everything.

So here are the top five things on my holiday bucket list this year -- and I'd love to hear what's on your list!

Dance in the Streets at Monumental Occasion: The annual lighting of the Washington Monument is a oldie but goodie Bmore tradition. A 40 year tradition to be exact. The magic happens from 5:30 - 8:00 pm in Mt. Vernon on December 1st.  Last year, we only caught the last ten minutes of fireworks. We're determined to see more of the show this year!

Rock the Dock (and around the Christmas Tree) on the Promenade: Saturday, December 10th is going to be one holly jolly good time on the Promenade down town. Don’t miss the festive live music, holiday themed arts and crafts, games, food and drink, great giveaways and even train rides. After the kids finish the decorating, families are invited to“rock around” the Christmas Tree. FUN!

Stroll 34th Street, Hot Chocolate in Hand: The quirkiness and craftiness of the light display on 34th Street is a new tradition for our family. But you've got to experience it WITH your mug of hot chocolate. Trust us.

Make Snowflake Garland: I always have high hopes of getting crafty around the holidays. The truth? I don't have a lot of time. And I'm not that crafty. But these fun little snowflakes look 100% doable. Even for me. Even if they are from MarthaStewart.com.

Have a Cookie Exchange Get Together: No frills. Just fun. And sugar cookie decorating with lots of sprinkles. Who wants to come?

What's on your holiday bucket list this year?
