5 last minute ideas to bring in da 'boo'

Happy Halloween! Did it sneak up on you like it did me? Whew.

We did manage to pull together a pink pony costume (thank you Pottery Barn Kids for having express delivery when the Bug changed her mind for the 353rd time), and I have a stock pile of Smarties and Twizzlers. {{I kind of halloweenied out on this one. I want enough candy to go round for the tons of little goblins that will be up and down our block, but I'm not interested in being the 'it' candy house.}} We pulled the "Trick or Treat" sign out yesterday and carved pumpkins, but I'll admit our house is lacking a sort of joie de "boo."

Thankfully, Google has come to the rescue. If you're feeling like your boo factor needs a last minute boost, here are five quick ideas to get your spook on.

Pumpkin Pancakes with Black Cinnamon Syrup: Found this fun little idea over at Tidy Mom. Get creative with a little syrup and a squeeze bottle.

Pumpkin Suncatcher: Start this craft with a household scavenger hunt searching for all things orange. Then get crafty. Found this gem on About.com.

Make Witches Hats: Nab those leftover party hats, some paper plates and back paint -- you've got all the makings of a fab witches hat. Am loving the googly eyes. This is a fun tutorial from 4 Crazy Kings.

Marshmallow Peep Ghost Smores: I think this is the perfect treat idea for family, co-workes and close friends. AND is you are able to assemble from items bought from the drug store. On a lunch break. Last minute thoughtfulness. Brilliant. Found this on Southern Vogue (a new must-read on my reader).

Jack-o-Lantern Quesadillas: A quick, light, kid-friendly meal before trick-or-treating. Toss a few 'bugs' in your salad for good measure. From MyRecipes.com.

(cool) tip: The ABC2 news Sunday meteorologist just called Halloween night weather "coolish and ghoulish." A balmy 42 degrees. Stay warm!
